Transfer canceled

I am devastated. I have felt pretty awful, so I know it is the best decision, but that doesn't take away the sadness. I talked to my RE this morning, all the embryos that have yet to be frozen still look great and will be frozen today. He said given the number of embryos we have he really thinks we will have a successful FET. He was still somewhat willing to do the transfer, but really felt like it was not a good idea. When I told him I was feeling like we should postpone he said he agreed. He did call me in a pain medication, anti-nausea, and some kind of suppository to help with the symptoms.

I know 17 is a great number but I wanted 2 in me today. This journey has been nothing like what I thought it would be. I never imagined I would get OHSS and that is would reek havoc on my body. I didn't want to complicate things and make them worse by getting pregnant. That wouldn't be good for me or the baby. I know I made the right decision, it is just hard.

  1. Of course it's hard. FET is so much easier than fresh. You'll see!

In the meantime, be good to yourself.

  4. So sorry you had to make the tough call, but it really does sound like your body needs a chance to recover from the OHSS. Glad to hear that you've got some fantastic looking embryos even after they've been left to grow for a little while. With so many, it really should mean that success is just a matter of patience and FETing.
    Get well soon!

  5. Oh, sweetie, I'm so sorry you developed OHSS, are feeling awful, AND had to cancel the transfer. :( That is so tough. I know it doesn't really help the feeling of disappointment, but I think you made the best decision for you and your future baby and am VERY hopeful for you FET with so many great embryos waiting for you!

  6. I'm so sorry :(
I know it's so hard to wait after all that work. But 17 embryos is Fantastic. And OHSS is really nothing to mess with and things would get worse if you got PG, as you know.

Your FET will be here before you know it and you'll feel 100% better.

  7. Hi!

You don't me, but I have come here via Bec at Crazy Lady Ramblings.

I just wanted to say I'm sorry about cancelling your cycle and I hope you are feeling better soon. But 17 embryos is absolutely fantastic! At least you have something to show for what you been through, and hopefully your first FET is a success.
